Can anyone tell me what kind of chickes these are????? (Pixs)

If you got them at tractor supply, then you probably got the golden comet and tetra tint. Mine looked just like that.

I have a tetra tint (whatever that may be (leghorn cross) is singing like a songbird. I love her. She makes me happy in this dreary Ohio weather! Never heard any of my other chicks sing like this!!

Is Noise a Problem with new chicks

Ours are in the sunroom and we had the TV on the western channel with all the gunshots going on. Figured they better get used to gun shots in this area!

    Manure tea question......

Just be careful of your plants. New poo is sometimes too hot (too much nitrogen). I don't use my poo for several years due to learning the hard way and burning my plants. I don't know about chick poo, though. Another thing is, I don't ever use poo from the chicks on food source plants as I try...

    Are Bantams good with gardens?

I thought it was great until my tomatoes got red and my bantam roo pecked a hole in every red tomato in the garden! He now has fencing over his pen (he's a flyer) and only allowed to free range until the tomatoes start to ripen!!

    Docile Rooster Breeds ?

Chicken (Poultry) Addiction Anonymous *Chat Thread*

I am also a chicken addict! I have one bird left from my origional purchase of straight run chicks from McMurray's 8 years ago. Thought she was a hen, but never saw her in a nest. She started getting very small spurs at about a year old. So, we called her our cross dressing hen because she/he...

    I didn't heed the warnings!

Just stopped in at Tractor Supply last night when I saw the "chicks r here" sign. Thank god they only had straight run or I would have had some also. I wanted to wait for warmer weather and order them. They are getting some more on Tuesday though.. hehehe. I always avoid the permission thing...
