Lasting diarrhea and starting to spread

Yeah botulism came to mind but I’ve been dealing with this for 6 weeks and no symptoms besides diarrhea. Other than that they are active, eating and drinking. However the one who has the worst diarrhea and who had it first is not laying.

Lasting diarrhea and starting to spread

I’m worried about something they caught from eating the corpse of the other chicken

Lasting diarrhea and starting to spread

I’ve been giving them probiotics and grit. But no I haven’t thought about salmonella as I’ve never dealt with anything like this. My previous chickens were properly cared for since chicks. This is very shocking to me.

Lasting diarrhea and starting to spread

They are not locked in the coop at night. They also have the run of half a garage. These are the only chickens I have. I owned them years ago but had no intention of getting any here. This was an emergency situation.

Lasting diarrhea and starting to spread

No idea how old the feed is or what type it is. She would buy things from Tractor Supply so something from there. Just ran out yesterday so I’ll be switching them anyway. Just didn’t want to switch the day they arrived as I was afraid that would be even more stress. They have grit and shells...

Lasting diarrhea and starting to spread

Only when I let them out and not much as the ground is frozen and snow covered most of the time. The closest in that chart was the one due to excessive water intake due to high heat and it’s winter in Connecticut so definitely not the case. The next closest is the one due to egg peritonitis...

Lasting diarrhea and starting to spread

This is what they came from. White spot in the hole in the ground by the feeder is their dead flock mate. I built a coop and fenced in half of my garage as I can’t build a run until winter is over so they are inside for right now. I let them out in the yard for a little while each day but we...

Only green they had was broccoli and not in abundance at all. Like half a broccoli crown split between them all two or three times within the past month.

Lasting diarrhea and starting to spread

No, outdoor small enclosed coop and run (too small) in New England. One lost a toe to frostbite shortly after I got them. They are still on the exact food they were eating as she gave me the bin of pellets. I toss them some veggies and scratch, yogurt and oatmeal which I’m sure they’ve never had...

Lasting diarrhea and starting to spread

I rescued four neglected chickens on Xmas eve. They had spent three weeks scratching in the corpse of one of their flock mates. Since I’ve gotten them one has had constant diarrhea. Now it’s two. I treated with Corid and no improvement. They are acting absolutely fine except for the diarrhea...

    Chicken leaking clear fluid

I can take pictures when I get home. She’s acting totally fine. Eating drinking, out free ranging and scratching and eating bugs and grass. Absolutely nothing out of the ordinary.

    Chicken leaking clear fluid

I rescued four chickens on Christmas Eve from a very disgusting situation. I’m trying to deal with the aftermath but every day it seems there’s something new. Now one of the chickens has very watery poop. Mostly water with a little green bit of grass and such. I picked her up to check her vent...

    Chicken with possible frostbitten toe

Thank you so much for your reply. Yes I was definitely not planning on getting chickens again anytime soon but when I saw their situation I had to take them immediately. She is eating and drinking, but is more listless and rests a lot. I actually saw my epsom salt when I had her feet soaking in...
