Anybody want or know of anyone who wants an 8 month old EE rooster; either for their flock or the soup pot? He had my other rooster (the one I like) pinned in a corner this morning so he has to go. I am not at a place in my chicken raising where I am ready to process my own birds.

Nellie and Lucy are doing wonderful. They are still very vocal and have been laying for at least a month now. They still like to go visit my neighbor when I let them out for supervised free range before bed.

Anybody interested in a black Cochin Roo or a black and white EE Roo? Both are 10 weeks old. I can't keep both of them and I am not ready to process my own chickens for meat.

I have six pullets who have started laying within the past three weeks. This morning when I let them out around 6:30 there were no eggs to collect. I was at work all day and then running children around so it was 7:30 tonight when I was able to get back out to check for the day's eggs. I...

They are nine weeks old now.

These two are supposed to be the same breed. If they are, I am assuming one is a pullet and one is a roo based on the tails.

I am hoping this one is a hen. This is the other Cochin that is smaller than the one that is probably a roo.

We don't use any chemicals.

Thank you for your replies. My neighbor really enjoys mowing his lawn and ours so he keeps up on it. We shouldn't have any issues with longer grass getting in there. I will give it a try and hope none of my chickens have any issues with it.

Do any of you have a problem with impacted or sour crops? I am thinking of putting some of our cut grass into the run for the chickens to scratch through, but I have concerns with them getting impacted crops from it.

My feeling is roo on this one too. He has gotten bigger than the other black cochin and the comb is bigger as of now.
