I built my ducks there own "house". I really overbuilt it but I used what I has laying around. The frame is 4x4 with 2x6 joists. the floor is 2x6 along with the sides with a plywood and shingle roof.
I have them in there own pen which is about 40x20 or 30 in the shape of a triangle.
I will get...
I have a chicken in with a couple of goats and have had no problem.
One of my babies from last year when he was born thought that the chicken was his mother. After about 5 mins of being born he started to chase after the hen.
I have it on all of my runs and have not had a problem with it at all. But like said before it needs to be tight, but not to overly tight that if a branch or something hits it that it will not break or split the wire.
I used fence and barn paint from Tractor Supply for my floor and it works like a charm. Easier to clean when dirty and can be swept with a broom.
Once I get a chance to move my chickens from there little coop to the big coop I will paint the floor the same way I did in the big coop.
I use straw and only straw. I have tried the shavings but they were to much of a hassle to get and to clean up.
I find that the straw works better than the shavings, but thats just me.
I dont know about that. I wouldn't do it though. With all the slop from the pigs your just begging for foot rot problems along with other health problems.
I would just put him in with the horse's and forget about it.
As for having to have 2 goats thats not a given rule of thumb. As long as he has someone or something to play with ( You or your Horses ) he should be fine. Just give him a little more attention
Any hay you feed him can cause bloat if he eats to much. The same with the feed.
To learn more about feeding goats do a google search and see what you can turn up.
For feed you can either feed goat feed in pellet form or in a mix. Or since you have horse's you can just feed the goat that ( I feed horse feed and dont have horse's )
When feeding hay dont feed a horse quality hay because it can cause bloat by eating to much. Feed a mix of hay like...
I had bought 6 or 700 lbs of goat feed once when the price was cheap at the mill. I just put it in the barn and the last bag I fed out of the 6 or 700 was about 4 or 5 months. The molasses had soaked into the feed and was some what dry but I had no other problems with it.
As for my chickens I...
I had the some thing happen to of my goats before. Lively one day and limp rag the next. It ended up being a problem in his neck.
Vet said to give him Dexamethasone Sodium Phosphate. It is a steroid. Give the little guy 3cc for at least 1 week if it doesn't work give him some more about 1 cc...
It weighed 3.5 oz was 6 inches around and 4 inches long. We dont know what chicken it came from but she did a good job. This is the biggest egg I have ever gotten.
