What do YOUR guineas like to eat? (was guineas -- feeding, treats?)

Mine go crazy for popped pop corn. They love it.

How are Border Collies for pets and living with chickens

It all depends on how you integrate and train it. Border Collies must have a job and are very active and entergetic. They are very friendly and loyal. They work hard and love companionship and live to work and please their owner. I can not stress enough that they must have a job and good...

    It Did Not Go Well

.22 bird shot at the head will solve your problem and it won't go very far.

    My Chickens are not Pets!

Some of your "pets" might look mighty tasty if someting bad happened and you couldn't get to the grocery store for a few weeks. Why do I have chickens? 1. I like a change from beef every now and then 2. My horses cost to much to eat them 3. I doubt my dogs would taste good 4. I love meat 5...

    Indoor vs. Outdoor brooders

I brooded ( is that a word?) mine outside and have many more coming that will also be outside. By outisde I mean in a 3 sided coop with chicken wire windows/front. They are safe from anything getting in and they can't get out. After about two weeks they are jumping out of the brooder so I make...

    Rumor has it.

I hope they get along at least when they get older because I already have 5 white leg horns 5 brown leg horns with 15 bantam buffs on the way.

    hows my brooder set up?

If they are getting to hot just have half of the heat lamp hitting a corner and the other half not getting the brooder. Like on the outside of it.

    Chick Math, Again!!!!!

Its funny how that happens. I was going to order 6 but the hatchery informed me I must have 15 at least so I upped it to 15 and they threw in a peanut making it 16. Was going to order fifteen more including a couple turkeys and ended up ordering 30 total. Chicken Math is tough.

When can they go live in the coop?

Mine are just over two weeks old and most of them have been out for in the coop for 3 days. As long as it is warm enough, they can't escape, nothing can get in , and they can find food and water they should be fine.

Just lost my first chick, very thankful to one of my EE's though

If my dog killed a chicken he would definetly not enjoy the next week of hi life. Very sad to lose one.

    top 5 breeds of dogs

+1 on the trianing not the breed. I have two cow dogs, one blue heeler and one Australian Kelpie. My Kelie pays my chicks no mind and my heeler badly wants to chase them. About twice a week I let them in the coop with me and the chicks. I make the kelpie go lay down in the corner and stay there...

    Chick Treats

So before I feed them anything but the starter I need to give them grit? I'm guessing my feedstore has this?

    Chicks Escaping

They are the only ones as these are my first birds. I have many wateres and food so I may just turn them all out and keep the lamp on at night. Thanks
