Thanks guys! Pat, I was asking about what foods to feed them that would be nutritionally complete, lay ration has been keeping them alive and well but I just wanted to know if there was anything better that I could be giving them that they could benefit from.

thanks I am using oyster shell now and I was told to try adding turkey starter or dry cat food for protein.

Thanks Wynette, I don't really suspect that it could be boredom because they free range every day, so maybe protein is the problem, I will try the cat food.

from the knee down is swollen, it has been this way for a couple of weeks, I suspect he was injured while fighting with another rooster. he has a scab on his leg (no doubt aquired by fighting), he doesn't put much pressure on it, only enough so he can balance. I don't think its bumblefoot...

I have 12 Welsummers. They seem to be a good reliable layer of really dark brown eggs, they are calm and gentle and like to wander. So far I'd have to say I'm really happy with them.

I have him separated, It could be a fracture or it could be mareks possibly, I don't have any pics and I don't usually medicate chickens unless I see the disease amongst them anyway thanks for the input and I'll look into some medication. Thanks, Roman.

Hi I have a self blue dutch rooster and recently he has gotten very lame in both legs and is unable to stand, he is not doing very well and has trouble getting food and water. Is there anything I can do or try that might help him? Roman.

Thanks for all the support! I am absoloutely sure that it is not scaly leg mites. The best way I can discribe it is that he can't put pressure on the leg, the small yellow/black bumps sometimes bleed, which has been going on since he started to mature but never appeared to bother him...

Thanks for the suggestions, if I narrow it down do you think you could more accurately tell what the problem is? My red pyle is sneezing, has mucus running from the nose which often bubbles when she breathes. hope to hear from you soon.
