We have a very old gander here , that currently cannot walk , he’s eating , but been pretty stationary for 3 days , he’s not guarding his female mate who is currently sat on eggs , no signs of injury etc , any advice would be gratefully received

When I disturb them by feeding and checking water,

I’m offering chick crumb for feed , mom not sitting on other 2 eggs , and chicks are real live wires , have completely netted wall garden now , and filled in any gapes that they may squeeze through they’ve not been near pond yet . Mom and dad are trampling on chicks is this normal

E walled garden now netted , looks like another chick about to break out going to leave well alone now as completely enclosed took hours

Farmer friend of mine has given me a roll of stack netting so should be able to completely enclose latter on when I get help here , mom still on nest , I’ve shut back into there pen until I can secure walled garden , I’ll post picks later , Thanks for your help

The area is not safe , they are in a walled garden ,it’s in the open above hence I wanted to move them into a covered pen and run nearer to the pond to give them safe access to water just very worried now and dreading letting them out this morning

They laid the eggs over three weeks and have been sitting on them for around 28 days , but really difficult to know as the laying process was so strung out . Many thanks for your help , I’ll try and find the oriental part of the forum . There is so little published on them

I was as two eggs were thrown out as well , I looked like a boiled egg , the other chick not formed properly, both outside of hutch broken , so did wonder if remaining eggs would hatch
