I agree. A lot of things can be said in the heat of the moment and while you may be thinking it and meaning it, sometimes its better not to put it in writing. Having just lost 6 chickens this past weekend I can understand your frustration and anger but you want to make sure you do not...
I have three dogs:
Belgian Malinois, she is a one of the four types of Belgian sheepherding dogs, never had a problem with her. She walks amongst the chickens and doesn't pay much attention to them.
Springer/Collie, he has a mild passing interest in my chickens. I don't think he would hurt...
Uugggg! This happened to me today. I pulled in the driveway at about 5:30-6 and there was a fox in the yard with one of my chickens. It just stood there until I got out and chased it. As I was looking for live ones it came back around the other side and went after more of them. I found 4 dead...
Please post pics when you get a chance. It does sound like mine when they are pushing. So again like I said before maybe a large egg or maybe getting egg bound? Doesn't sound so much like prolapse to me. Not an educated idea, just thoughts.
Thank you! That helps. The bloody egg I saw on countrychicken looks mild compared to the one I got. Fitting for Halloween I thought. lol Can you see the blood in the egg when you candle? The egg itself looked off to me so I wasn't selling that one but what a surprise when I opened it. I do...
Does any one have a picture of a fertilized egg? Meaning one that has been cracked open. I'm curious as to what they look like. I opened one of mine the other day and it was filled with blood. The white was tinted a reddish pink and there was what looked like blood clots in it. it was quite...
Not an expert but here goes. Is there tissue actually hanging out of her vent? Or does it look like she is trying to push and that is when it the "red bubble" is visible? I have seen this or what I think you are saying with a few of mine. The first time one of my brown leg horns layed I...
My golden comets lay the biggest ones out of my varieties. I get a lot of double yolks from them and they lay everyday. Wish I had gotten a dozen of them in the spring instead of 2.
I have three of mine that lay in the run, which with the rain we have had here is quite muddy so that makes for some pretty dirty eggs. I just wash mine off but mine are for eating and not incubating.
