My oldest is a golden laced Wyandotte, Big Red (on right) she is 12 and aside from arthritis in her ankles is still going strong! She is the flock announcer, I can always tell when a new egg arrives from one of the girls.
Thought you might like to see how things turned out
Well all of you were right
Meet Vern (formerly LaVern) & Shirley is quite pretty too
Now that Vern has become vocal waiting for someone to complain, so far so good :)
Yes she is silly, she is very friendly and loves to be petted. The grey one, Violet/Victor ended up being a roo as well and I had to re-home him, it was sad. Out of 7 chicks 4 were Roos
Update: Brahma was a boy, he now lives at SunnySide Up Ranch in Lake Elsinore, Ca. He was such a goofy looking chick I named him Baby Huey. He definitely grew out of his ugly duckling stage.
Update: I named them Lavern and Shirley, as a lot of you pointed out, Lavern turned out to be Vern. He is a big beautiful boy and they are inseparable.
So these are from English stock, I've asked and the hens will have 1 or 3p combs when the grow up, they are 12 weeks old now and look the same color to me, no waddles to speak of yet, the gold/blue still has lots of fluff and the back feathers are not filled in yet. I have asked the breeder for...
that's what I have been hoping, all the blue fluff and coloring made me think girl, but I'm new to Brahmas, here is a better picture of her face and chest
Also a picture of Frank he is about a 5 weeks older, he is a buff laced Brahma
Hey all,
This chick was sold to me as a Blue Gold Partridge Brahma
she/he has a true pea comb but not any higher or redder than her/his sister a Partridge Brahma
They are both beautiful and super docile and friendly
I really want her to be a pullet, please any advice
Out of 7 chicks since May 3...
