I have a muscovy duck sitting on eggs and one of my chickens has gone broody and insists on sitting on top of her and the eggs. I take her off daily but she keeps going back? What can I do?
So far so good, the duckling tucks himself into the bag with the fleece and stays toasty warm. The bag is just a pouch made of regular fleece materials and I put a big handlful of alpaca unspun fleece in it for warmth. The duckling tucks himself in as far as he needs to stay warm.
I have scrap alpaca fleece so thought I would try that with my single duckling. I have the pen inside my house. I'll let you know how it goes. I've put a big handful of fleece loose ( not in a bag) in the pen.
I have alpaca wool fleece scraps not fit to spin, do you think that would work to keep a duckling warm at night? Would I need to put it in a bag or just put handfuls of the fleece in the cage with him. He's inside the house as our nights are starting to get cold.
