    Nesting box for Ducks

Ok thats what I was thinking from reading around on here. My ducks are about 2 1/2 months old, do you know when they start laying? I am fairly certain I have a Pekin, Cayuga, Rouen, and a Welsh Harlequin (welsh maybe mixed with a Runner, tho she doesn't stand up like a runner so probably just...

    Nesting box for Ducks

I have looked around on here about duck nests, but my question is this: I have built a coop for my ducks and chickens and I divided it so my 9 chickens have a 10x10 coop and the ducks have a 4x10 coop, I let the ducks in their run (which is 30x14 with a small pond) and put them up at night...

    Building the Duck Run

Ok, I probably will put a top on, I was just worried about the cleaning of the pen if it was too short, but I can work around that. I do plan on running some 2x12's along the bottom of the fence to help with them sticking their heads through it. And yes Ducklover87 I have read about the...

    Building the Duck Run

Ya we have coons, and snakes too and I'm sure opossums. But I planned on putting them in the inside coop at night so I don't worry about the nocturnal critters. There are coyotes as well but we have so many neighbor dogs I don't see or hear them much. And like I said not many animals come on...

    Building the Duck Run

Also I am only assuming the tan/white one is a Welsh Harlequin I don't know how to tell the difference. Maybe a Campbell but I can't tell by looking at pictures. I was told she is a Runner but that is not right

    Building the Duck Run

I'll try to get some pictures, I've never noticed hawks I do live in the country though, but I have 3 dogs, they stay inside during the day but because of them I don't have any predators come on my property. I don't know how to put pictures on here but if you can go to my facebook page I put...

    Building the Duck Run

My ducks are just about full feathered, they're about 7 weeks old now (I think). I have their inside coop done, but they are extremely messy lol. My question is when I build their outside run, do I need to net the top as well? I have a Cayuga, a Welsh Harlequin, a Mallard(or Rouen I can't...

I don't know what my ducks are!

yes it is crested, i was kinda wondering if the Cayuga could possibly be a black runner? Tho i don't know I've just been looking at pictures, the grey-ish one is a yellow runner I'm almost certain of that when she's on flat ground she's tall, still don't know the sexes tho

I don't know what my ducks are!

I have 4 ducks, I'm pretty certain one is an Indian Runner, she stands at attention, it looks like my black one is as well. I have a big yellow one with a hair do, I don't know the difference between the Pekins and the Crested ducks. And that black one I think is a Runner has hair on his head...
