just to follow-up, one was female (black) and the other male (brown/red). not sure if this is true for all bbr chicks. now, i have another question: if a splash roo bred to a bbr hen, what would the offspring be? thanks.

hey there deb!! no, i don't. i guess i could try and take some tomorrow, but honestly i was hoping they could be color sexed. they look very different in color - well, obviously brown and black are different - lol.

so maybe i need to ask what a wheaten looks like. when i think of wheaten, i think of, like, a wheaten marans or something similar - - that wheaten color, right? but when you say bbr is wheaten, it confuses me. bbr doesn't look like a wheaten.

what does a bbr araucana look like?

i kind of want a barred araucana. i like the subtlety of the one above.

a vitamin deficiency can also cause a beak to be deformed - - look for this if it's happening after hatch.

where did your stock come from? when will the eggs ship? and when will the eggs be collected?

leg color does not identify a breed. there are several breeds with "incorrect" leg color (barred rocks, rhode island reds, and araucanas just to name three). indeed, "correct" leg color is something breeders of chickens are constantly working on, but it doesn't mean the chickens are of a...
