I am hoping that someone can help us with our chicken situation. My husband spent hundreds of hours of work plus a lot of money into expanding our coop to a 7x12 and the run to 24x24 as we were planning on getting many more hens. At the moment we have 8 laying hens with the youngest 5 being only...
We have 2 RIR and 2 Barred Rocks that have been laying since September 2018. They were born in April of 18 and their eggs have always been perfect with the beautiful brown shell. 4 weeks ago there was been a decrease in eggs to the point of only getting 2 eggs for a week. Now the egg production...
Mine have been laying daily now since September 11th and everytime 1 of them lays they all sound like they are singing together, it is so funny. Oh, and our rooster wont stop screaming like a proud Papa, lol
We now have 8 eggs since I posted about the 1st one!!!! I have officially become a crazy chicken lady, lol. It's just so exciting to be getting eggs daily. The only problem I am having are 2 of my girls are laying under the nesting boxes on the floor. But the eggs we have gotten are so clean...
Thank you, not sure what breed but it doesn't matter because we love them so much. They are so sweet and come to us when we call their names. We also have 2 Barred rock hens and a Dominique roo, and they are all the same way. Maybe it has to do with us holding them from day 1 and still do, lol
My girls definitely look like yours except they have a deeper red head and body, and one of them has a lot of black on her head and throughout her feathers. Neither of them have the lighter body.
Would you happen to have pictures of your Cinnamon queens? Also what color were they as babies? I am not sure what they are but I absolutely adore them, they are so friendly and lovey. I have 2 barred rock girl and a Dominique too (was supposed to be a girl), and they are all so friendly and...
Oh my gosh your eggs are beautiful!!! So far I have only gotten the 1 egg yesterday but I cant wait to get more. I would have to ask my husband on the exact size of the run, but it is in a T shape with bottom of the T attached to their coop and steps. At first we had it in just a rectangle shape...
Does anyone know the breed in my profile picture? Was told they are cinnamon queens but to me they look too dark for that breed and they have black tail feathers along with some black on their heads
