This looks like an Olive Egger and is supposed to lay blue eggs, but a full grown light gray hen with a light yellow head that is apparently the same breed, lays brown eggs. Can't wait for her to start laying so that we can see!
We've never had chickens before and I was told that 1/3 to 1/2 of the chicks would naturally die. Nope, sure didn't . We have had to make a few adjustments to account for this many, but it sure is fun! There are 15 in there.
We are trying to figure out which breed she is. The hatchery only categorizes by specific coded letters. She is supposed to start laying the week of June 9. We'll see!
