    Warning! Graphic image!

We looked out on our deck to find a hen pecking at an egg so I went out to stop her. This egg was not there last night. No way a hen could push it there because there are steps to get on deck. Is it possible the hen got scared and didn't lay the egg until after it started developing?? We got a...

    Chicks stopped peeping

It's day 20 and the chicks were peeping until I added water to my little giant incubator. I'm not sure I trust the temp/humidity gauge on the incubator because it never matched the one I out in the incubator. I don't know which one to believe. At any rate, what should I do? I don't want to drown...

    year old rooster collapses

It's too late. He's been outside all day awaiting my husband's arrival so we can bury him. For future reference, what is the purpose and what is the cost? I'm not familiar with this. Again, thank u for all your help!

    year old rooster collapses

I'm sorry to report that when I went to set the wire crate up in the coop, I found Chuck, Jr. (the rooster) dead. Thank you for your help. Because of what you told me, I'm going to put lots of straw in the coop and place several bales around the coop so they have a soft landing. I just hope he...

    year old rooster collapses

I thought his legs and feet looked ok but will check him again in the morning. I put him in a big tote with straw in the coop. He ate and drank really well today. He usually sleeps in the coop's rafters.we were wondering if he got hurt jumping down. Or if he got in a fight with the other...

    year old rooster collapses

My year old rooster can't walk for long before he just flops down. He is eating fine but I have to put the food right next to him. He gets up, hobbles around for a few steps then collapses again. He almost acts like his hip hurts him, but that could just be me. Any ideas?

Entire coop wiped out last night :(

We have lost 3 hens in the past week. I believe it's happening during the day because they are being killed while in the laying boxes laying eggs. All that is left are the wings. Yesterday the predator even ate all the eggs in the laying boxes. Will be putting up trail cam today but any ideas...

    Chicks not here!

We lost 14 chicks due to them getting chilled. The hatchery said the stress kills them. Best thing is to call the post office and ask them to call day or night for you to come get them as soon as they arrive.

    incubating eggs

Do I have to turn them if the incubator turns them from side to side? Why do you mist them with water?
