I ended up with 11 out of 15 =) 4 weren't fertile. Tonight they are chirping in their eggs. They aren't due to hatch though till Sun. I can't wait to see them!

I would love to join =) I put 15 eggs in on 3/19. My husband bought me a little giant forced air incubator with an egg turner for me so I could try hatching my very first eggs. Right now we have a blue cochin rooster, silver laced cochin hen, 2 partridge cochin hens, black cochin hen, lavender...

I am on day 4 as well with incubating my first eggs ever. Some of my lighter shelled eggs I could see veins but on the darker shelled eggs I couln't see anything I will try candling them again on day 7 to see if I can see anything at that point. Let me know when you candle again & what you see...

Thank you all for responding. I will continue with the Terramycin ointment & see how it is in a few days or if it gets worse before then. I dont dare pop it because I'm not experienced & dont feel comfortable. If it comes to that though..I will ask my vet to do it. Thanks again

His eye seems to water a little but no other signs of discharge. He is eating fine & acting fine. His poop is also normal.

This is my Blue Cochin Roo that has something going on with his eye. I bought him yesterday from the NY state fair. Didn't realize his eye was messed up. I put Terramycin in his eye today. Should I be doing anything else? New to chickens

For those who add DE & Flaxseed to there feed...how much do you mix with a 50lb. bag of feed?? I would like to try this but am not sure how much to add to there bag of feed or do you not mix it?? Thanks for any help!

I have 20 8 week old pullets..no roos & some of them are loosing there feathers on there back end. They are bald under there wings but they do have there tail feathers. I noticed today that a few more are starting to lose there feathers now too. They have a huge brand new coop that is 14 x 18...
