Great, I will keep an eye out. I have a ground pen with branches on the ground for cover. They laid in the tree, and had made another nest in a shallow dug out... I did not disturb either nest, just reached in and grabbed out the eggs... I have had 5 eggs so far and two of them have had a small...

How often to the chukar hens lay? Mine started this weekend. I got four eggs... but nothing now for two days... I removed the first four without disturbing the birds or the "nests" they made.... Just curious if I made a mistake by collecting them...

I have a 5 in a 6x8 pen. BUT... I also have lots and lots of cover, and many perches for them to get away from one another but still be visible for me to inspect and take care of. I intend on breeding them soon too, so I made a pair of nesting boxes out of an old cabinet from the kitchen...

So sorry for your loss I too have lost birds to something that didn't have courtesy to even take the whole bird... sad

Update: I have a staggered hatch going, my first half are at day 19 today and the other half is at day 17 today... I'm starting to think that only 2 of the first half are going to hatch... Really worried about the second half. btw - I am one of "those" guys that made their own incubator from...
