Thx! I hope it’s not a broad breasted meatie. Was hoping for a pet/guard turkey. If it is a broad breasted..... how do you tell the difference, or is it just that obvious? And assuming in that case it will not make a good pet and will have health issues just like meat chickens (Cornish)

Hey, I picked up this little guy/girl at a local feed store. It only said “mixed turkeys “. This is my first turkey, I put him in with my ducklings and goslings. Anyone have an idea what breed it could be??? Thank you :-)

I am so relieved and happy to report that my little hippie family takes excellent care of the goslings now. I guess they just needed to figure out the new dynamics and I think Hugo was just really overwhelmed first with his new father role ;-) Mrs. Goose took them back into her little A-frame...

My 1 day old American Buff goslings went on their first outing with mom and dad's…..yeah, my lady has 2 guys attending to her ;-)

First day out and about as a family……... I can't believe she hatched all of her 7 eggs!!!!!!! I was hoping for 2 or 3 but didn't think that all of them would hatch!!!!!

Here is a picture of them….. I will keep a eye on them and make sure that they are protected overnight.

Thanks for your reply. I think that things have calmed down …….my guess now is that it was the first day out and everybody was just a little overwhelmed (me included) and they had to adjust to their new little family. Temps are in the mid 60, goslings seem to be fine and not cold. I was just...

My American Buff yearling hatched 7 eggs yesterday. I have two ganders that bonded with her and another female that sits on a nest. Today the goslings and mom are out and about eating, drinking and enjoying the day. The Gander, Hugo, seems to try keep order and pecks at the little ones, don't...

I am so happy for Mrs. Goose, so far there are 5 little goslings……. hope I will get better pictures soon. Very protective of her nest and the the two ganders take their job very serious as well ;-)

Mrs. Goose's eggs hatched yesterday/today. 5 little ones as far as I can see…… won't let me very close ;-) and her two guardians taking their job very serious as well. lol You can see one peeking out :-)

My yearling Buff just went broody last Thursday!!!!!! She started laying probably 3 weeks ago, she laid a egg every other day/every day. I took them and replaced them with ceramic eggs because of the freezing temperatures at night. The first 4 eggs I think we ate and then I started saving them...

Freaked out this afternoon when I saw her walking around but she is back on her nest. Guess she just needed a little exercise and a snack :) That's her. You can see her butt and her two men standing guard!
