I keep the net next to the run and I pick it up on the way inside every day. As soon as he sees me reach for it, he turns from the door to the run and heads to the coop (at the opposite end). I never have to net him anymore, but if he does get "froggy," I've got my handy net within reach.
I have a buff orpington rooster by default since he was supposed to be a girl, and he was really sweet until he hit around one year. After that he would randomly attack whomever came into the run except for me probably because I fed him and the girls. I went out of town for a few weeks in May...
