    I went to a swap this weekend in Valley Falls (craigslist is great!) and they had Royal Palm chicks so I now have three little babies in a box under the lamp!

    Yeah unfortunately it looks like the closest hatchery is either several hours away in MO or way off in western Kansas. There is a local place called Capital city poultry that might be selling small quantities, but so far they've only advertised for chicks.

    My local Orscheln and TSC both carry turkeys during chick days, but no heritage breeds. Does anyone know if they'll order them for you (to bypass the 15 minimum) so you can get, say 5 instead?

    Yeah I wasn't all that crazy into it either (before I figured it out) since I sell my eggs at work. Although now I need to increase my price from $1 to $3 !!!

    Great pyrenees owners - I have questions!!

    I bought a 3 month old from a farm who was raised with Chickens and donkeys. He is great and gentle with the hens, ducks and even the turkey! They love him like their own.

    I found 3 week old purebred pups for $200 each, seems expensive but I guess I'll go for it...

    I'm trying to locate a Pyr puppy and so far I found a 6 month old, but my question is that too late to train them not to eat the hens but guard them? The seller thinks it might be.
