I suppose I am lucky. My Welsummer bantams are real healthy. They take the cold real well. Oldest birds I've had are 5 year old girls, they are in extremely good shape. BTW garlic in the water bowls works great for worms! and its natural

    What breed would you order?

My personal opinion is most ducks lay eggs, some do not go broody like the khaki cambell. I find the blue and black swedes to be interesting, decent layers, and males to...

My black chicken . Hen or rooster?

I was wondering if it was an Black Australorp or Jersey Giant, unfortunately I am not familiar with those two breeds. I know Sumatras, they are gamy looking birds with a long tail more of that to a phoenix.

They kind of vary, but generally the bantams hang right around 30oz. Since I show them I know that it's hard for judges to understand, that they are the largest of the bantams. Even if you pick them up you realize they are allot more fluff then they look.

    New to quail

I've raised coturnix quail for years, 4 girls and 1 boy do well in 2x3 foot wire cages. When I used wire cages I build a hardware cloth under the feed area with another plastic container I got from Chinese restaurant, and used it to catch extra feed from a wall mounted feeder. But now I run...

He is beautiful! You know those soft dog treats, kind of look like small worms, come in like 3 colors? Chickens love them, you can give those as treats and eventually probably get him to eat out of your hand, then tame gim

My oldest male is 5, he was a real s.o.b. He ended up with really swelled feet and has a hard time getting around now. so fortunately he doesn't jump me and my wife anymore, all the males after him have been really nice.
