Well, logically...I would think that yes they are larger but what makes them larger is their bone mass. More bone = Less Meat. Smaller breast and larger legs.

I am getting 100 of these on Friday....I can't decide to go with mixed run or all Pullets! We plan on butchering them out at 7 weeks old. Will the meat be the same? Which are better? So far I've switched my order 3 times and right now as it stands I'm getting all Pullets.

My mother in law used to raise 100 chicks at a time and is forever bragging that she has never lost one. I will be getting 100 chicks on Friday and have been reading that you can expect to lose about 30% of them. I need advice because I will NEVER hear the end of it if I lose some birds...
You were right! I have now on order...50 Cornish Cross pullets and 2 Cockrels as well as 2 Nicholas white Poults!! I'm hoping for some ducks too this summer!!

This little incubator was made with a 9x15 styrofoam box from a Pharmacy, my daughter's old lamp, a wire mesh filing tray, some foil, tape,glue and a piece of glass from an old picture frame. For vents I used jam jar lids with holes drilled into them.
