I have a white Silkie rooster in with my mixed flock of hens. Many of the girls have bald backs so I decided to put some eggs in the incubator. 2 hatched today!! The have black skin, beak and eyes with feathered legs and their feathers are mostly black with some white mixed in. SO ADORABLE!!!!!

I just hate the idea of having to throw out all of my eggs for 2 wks after worming my flock. My husband doesn't think that an all natural wormer would work. What is your experience?

Does anyone use a bug zapper in the coop? Was just thinking it might help with the flies. We live near a dairy farm and we also have cows and occasionally pigs so I'm thinking that DE might not help much.

My daughters little 5lb yorkie mix tried to eat my broodie hen!! She chewed off allof her tail feathers and started chewing on her skin. I'm just sick! My BCM hen is still alive and still sitting on the 3 Silkie eggs that I slipped under her but she looks so sad!
