We have only had hens since March this year. It's been fun. I absolutely love my ladies.

They are so fun. This was the first time we had a hen go broody. She has been the best momma. Her name was Mertle, now we call her momma Mertle.

I have a great momma hen she has 4 day old babies. Needing to worm the flock. Should I keep her and the chicks separate. The chicks have a small bowl of water and can't reach the wormer water. But is it ok to worm mom while she has the chicks.

The new girls are about 6 months. My other girls are almost a year. The year old ones the guy said they were 4 h hens. This last set, from the same guy, I think are just farm hens. Is there anything you can do for Marek's?

I use 250mg amoxiciln. I should have know better than to put them all together. If something happens with another girl I will get in touch with the recommendations. Thank you for your help and quick reply.

Sorry forgot to mention. The 2 nd girl that died, that started with bumble foot seemed very unsteady on her feet, like she was tipsy. She didnt fall just wobbly

The guy we got them from said a year old but he had so many. I have been massaging her crop and it seems a little better. Her crop never really feels full. Its better than it was but not like the other girls. I will definitely check out the link. Im trying to get a picture to upload.
