    Encouragement for impatient egg laying

    CRAZY, we have 4 hens, all the same age. The 2 RIR's started laying in September, one of the Americauna/EE's started at 27 weeks old October and YESTERDAY the other Americauna/EE, Spike, layed her 1st egg at 35 weeks old !! Probably our fault for naming her Spike...They lay the prettiest green...

    Post your FIRST EGG pics!

    Here is our first egg, a double yolker, awesome!! After that they have been smaller and more perfectly shaped. Layed by our RIR, named Red. The other girls (3) havn't layed yet! Oh yeah, it's not quite as gigantic as it looks, it is in my 5 year olds hand!

    I am a chiropractor and I have been showing all of my patients the picture of our first egg (scrambled cuz my kid wanted it that way) next to our grocery store "ORGANIC" egg. Hmmmm, makes you really think about our food supply doesn't it!?
