I have a four week old Asian Black chick from tsc and on wednesday got a one week old bantam. I decided to try putting the week old in with the four week olds so she wasn't left alone. Right from the start the Asian took to her and seems to be caring for her. I have caught her twice now with the...
Just wanted to give an update. My chick is doing a lot better. Her vent is still a little sore but she hasn't had any new pasty butt in 3 days. I'm continuing with the ACV in her water and swabbing the vent area with coconut oil.
Thanks for the help!
Yes. She does have seperate droppings which are a little on the harder side sometimes which I guess could mean she's a little constipated. She is drinking and her brooder temps are not too hot. She's in the house and I have the lamp adjusted so it's between upper 70's and low 80's and she seems...
Got a chick from the leghorn pullet bin at TSC a week and a half ago. It was the only one with pasty butt. We have given her nutri drench in her water the first few days, then switched to apple cider vinegar for a few days and today we are trying a probiotic/electolyte mix in her water. We had...
I have a beautuful 5 1/2 month old blue ameraucana rooster that I need to find a home for. He is very people friendly but I already have too many roosters. He was supposed to be a pullet. I would love to keep him but I don't have the space or enough hens for him. Located near Bath, Pa. If you...
Blooie - she is so adorable! Everyone lays in the nest box except for the hen who's egg was stolen today, she lays in the corner of the coop. I'm kind of hoping someone goes broody before it gets too cold because I would love to hatch out some olive eggers from my EE rooster and welsummer hens!
I have a 5 1/2 month old EE that has been laying for about a month. She has recently started trying to steal eggs from the other hens. Today she was waiting with her head almost under one of the other hens to take the egg as soon as it came out. She then started rolling the egg away and when I...
After we pushed it back in she has some clear watery poop with white spots in it. I thinks it's coming back out when she tries to poop. I'm not sure it's going back in the right place. I read to kinda push up when putting it back in but as soon as it starts to go in she pulls the rest in herself...
We put the egg back in twice and it keeps coming back out still in the membrane. I can't find any opening for the egg to come out. Is there anything else I can do? I really don't want to have to put her down.
