Interesting first post? LOL
I do agree with most/some of what you're saying, but for my stubbornness, I am nearly forced to defend my own opinion and share it as professionally as possible -- I do believe that children should know where food comes from and know that sometimes animals have to...
Welcome to BYC!
As to your question... I have the same opinion as Mountain Peeps -- the Barred Rock looks like a male, his beak also looks like a male beak. (If he grows spers or starts crowing, you'll know for sure he's a male. I bet you knew that anyway though.)

Welcome, welcome, welcome!
I love your adorable little chicks! They look like a wonderful flock! Good luck raising them!
And like Mountain Peeps said, feel free to ask questions about anything you aren't sure about! ^_^

Thanks

I'm getting chicksfrom some chicken place. Ha ha... Sorry, haven't worked out the details, but anyway -- I have to pick a breed. I am just trying to find the none-for-being-docile birds and get a rooster in that breed. I'll be hand-caring for them and trying to socialize with them a lot. But...
I'm planning on getting chickens this year. Three of them to be exact. One -- a blue Andalusian, two -- a brahma, and three -- an Easter Egger. I wanted some tips about these girls. Do you think they will get along?
Thanks,
