It's okay, I actually thought it was fluid too! But she had a tumor. We aren't sure what caused it, the vet was just a farm vet and hadn't seen many chickens. We got X-rays done and diagnosed her before putting her down. She was around my other hens, yes. I really hope it wasn't Mareks disease...

I'm sad to say she didn't make it, she was euthanized. It was a tumor the size of a goose egg. :(

Okay so I called the avian vet and I'm scheduling an appointment for next week. are you 90% sure it has to be drainage? I don't think there's an egg in there because I let her soak in the bath for awhile to sooth it, I also fed her lots of calcium, nothing worked. I hope it's just a simple drainage!

My dad doesn't want to get another female duck, but he was thinking about making another pen to seperate the two hens with the female duck from the two male ducks. Is that a good idea?
