Last week I slipped 3 pheasant eggs into the clutch of 9 eggs one of my hens was setting on, next day all three of the pheasant eggs were gone

I've only been doing this a few years now, I mean raising chickens etc.. And one thing I've learned is that when a hen is setting on eggs never interfere no mater what, what happens..happens. Every broody hen I've had in the last two years has had a 99-100% hatch rate.

Even funnier yet is the crow of a Pheasant....The first time my girlfriend heard it she asked if one of my roo's had a sore throat!

They all pretty much have the same amount of white...besides ol' stink eye LOL. The feathered legs would be a French type?

Hello! I hatched what I was told were Black Copper Marans, but I am thinking a Maran mix of some sort. Perhaps BCM and Cuckoo Maran mix? Three of four chicks have feathered legs and all have white tips on the wings. What are these little guys? Thanks!! J

Hello! I purchased a few Black Copper Maran eggs in which I hatched four chicks. Anyway, 2 of the chicks have feathers on their legs and 2 do not also two are black and white and two are a greyish color. Can someone tell me what they think might be the difference? I know it might be hard...

Just curious as to how some of you set your eggs during lockdown/hatch stage. I usualy place my eggs flat during the hatch period. I have 24 eggs going in lockdown today and was thinking of putting them in egg cartons this time and was just lookin for the pros and cons(if any) versus laying...

You are suppose to put the thermometer where the eggs set.
