Baby Duckling with Pasty Butt... First-time hatcher.. PLEASE HELP

The ducklings loved swimming! Two of the smaller guys even did their little duckie dives a couple of times! Once I saw one of the smaller ducklings start to slow down and appear tired, I had brought them back in. I dried their feathers with a towel as best I could since they really don't like...

That's what I had assumed also. I'll keep an eye out. And tomorrow I will clean if necessary and add olive oil to the actual vent, not her belly button. I'm also going to let them play in some shallow water since they seem to have so much fun in their waterer.

Baby Duckling with Pasty Butt... First-time hatcher.. PLEASE HELP

No luck when I found it as I held her she decided she no longer wanted to be held. It sticks out of her skin like a dried vein, it is hidden within her fur/feathers. It doesn't appear to hurt because she doesn't flinch or cheep when I stroke her. It's located on the back of her neck moreso...

It's on the outside of her body. I'll try to get a pic now.

Baby Duckling with Pasty Butt... First-time hatcher.. PLEASE HELP

Oops.. definitely wasn't her vent then. I think I put olive oil on her belly button. Boy, I still have so much to learn. I'd be lost without you and all the amazing people on BYC. Out of all the ducklings (I have 5) she is the only one with a runnier poop and she's also the largest. I...

Baby Duckling with Pasty Butt... First-time hatcher.. PLEASE HELP

Thank you so much for your response Sparrow! I hope I don't sound dumb but I think I am looking for the right thing. Where she has the poop I don't see a hole. But further to the front there is a very small hole (almost looks like a belly button). Is that her vent? If so, there is nothing...

    Hatch-a-long Countdown!!!

I woke up this morning to her butt looking like pasty butt again. I have no problem whatsoever taking care of her and cleaning her butt whenever necessary but I don't want her to associate me as being the thing she needs to run away from... I want her to trust me and know she can cuddle with me...

Baby Duckling with Pasty Butt... First-time hatcher.. PLEASE HELP

I woke up this morning and there's poop stuck on her butt again. Sigh, I have no problem whatsoever doing whatever I have to to take care of her but I am so worried she'll associate me as the horrible being that kept taking her away from the others and wiping her.

    Hatch-a-long Countdown!!!

So I saw her poop twice. Not big poops (at least not in my eyes) BUT when she pooped, it didn't look like the poop was stuck half way out of her behind. I think that's progress right? I had cleaned her and put a lil olive oil in the area where the poop had been but not on any skin. Is that ok...

Baby Duckling with Pasty Butt... First-time hatcher.. PLEASE HELP

One of my Pekins (she's so big compared to the others), looks like she always has poop coming out. It's grey and soggy and it looks like it's hanging from her butt. I tried to wipe it earlier today but she ran away. I cleaned a little off but it was all stuck on the feathers around her butt...

    Hatch-a-long Countdown!!!

I did some research and check the other duckies. None had the same issue- I assume pasty butt. This is my first hatch and I have to say, I started crying because my nerves. I wiped her as clean as I could... here's a picture... I don't see poop but I her feathers/fur is a little clumped...

    Hatch-a-long Countdown!!!

Ugh, I'm getting nervous... =( She eats and drinks regularly (with the crowd). Oh, I hope nothing is wrong. Btw, I hold her very gently - I feel like the picture makes it look like I'm choking the poor thing. But I promise I'm not.

    Hatch-a-long Countdown!!!

Lots of info. on this one. So first, in regards to her poop- it's grey and soggy and it looks like it's hanging from her butt but I tried to wipe it a little while ago and while I cleaned a little off, it was all stuck on her feathers around her butt. Is that bad? 2. It doesn't appear to be...

    Hatch-a-long Countdown!!!

Yay for the mixed breed! I will upload some pictures soon! I have some random questions: - One of my Pekin (she's so big compared to the others), looks like she/he always has poop coming out- is that normal? - How about the ducklings pecking at each other? - I've seen a couple of...
