Great article!
I am in the process of building my coop and run right now (may 2019). One thing I have planned for is a 2 foot wide box on the outer edge of the run that runs the entire 14 foot length. It will sit on the ground so its higher than the normal grade. Covered in 1/4 inch hardware...
Hey FG I saw your post on the guy that was trying to get rid of the EE Rooster... anyway I saw you have golden laced wyandotte?
I was thinking about getting some.
I'd love to find the ones that have the blue hue in them...
Are the cool birds?
Wow!
I love it... I am currently building my own 1st coop and it is this same design!!
A few minor differences but overall very similar.
I spotted your post on pinterest then jumped over to BYC to look you up.
I hope you're still active here...
I have a couple questions that you could answer...
They have four factory sides even tho they are 1/2 sheets. Never had a nail in them. Although they aren't actually 1/2 as in 4x4... they are 51inx39in or something like that. But cheap enough for that not to matter!
He says thousands of sheets.
Make sure you contact him first. I started to drive down and he was out of town. . Glad I only made it to my local McDonalds! Lol

If this doesn't work as a hot link, copy and paste in browser.
Hopefully it's not to far away and you can save a bunch of money too!
I will be getting 100 sheets! When you consider a gull sheet of plywood starts around 25$ and I need 11 sheets just for the outside. And I want to sheet the inside so I can insulate the walls.
I dunno if you still need building materials but...
I found a guy in lavonia on craigslist that sells half sheets of plywood for 4$ ea or 3$ if you buy 100 sheets. It's a couple hour drive for me but I'll save enough to off set the drive.
Right on! Gotta love MI weather!
My brother is the one that gave me the chicken bug! Lol
I started my coop last week during our awesome spring weather! But the snow and rain has put the brakes on!
Hello fellow Michigander !
I am stoked to finally have my own chicks!
Michigan winters have me researching the best way to build my coop for optimal comfort for my girls!
How long have you had chickens?
