Children are fascinated with all animals, especially farm animals, i have 7 grandchildren and everyone of them wants to pet a chicken when they are over, which is quiet a lot when i am home, they helped me build my intermediate coop and my chicken yard, they feed all the animals also. Chicks, dogs and horses, iguess it is a good thing i don't have a hundred acres.
