    Light Brahmas both hens?

We bought them from a local feed store. I asked their age and the workers had no idea. I assumed they were maybe 3-4 weeks because they had already started to feather out. At that time the there was a slight size difference. This is a pic of when I first got them.

    Light Brahmas both hens?

Yes, as chicks the big one was slightly bigger. It seemed to get bigger really quickly compared to the other. The smaller one had hurt its leg for a while and was limping about a week but is fine now. I had figured it was smaller from not gettting around as well to eat.

    Light Brahmas both hens?

We bought these from a feed store that supposedly got them from McMurray hatchery. They were all supposed to be female. I thought they were supposed to be 99 percent accurate? I'm really hoping at least the smaller one isn't a roo. They are both so sweet and bonded though. I'd probably rehome...

    Light Brahmas both hens?

I had a feeling. :hmm The larger one seemed very different early on.

    Light Brahmas both hens?

Thanks, same here! Roosters are illegal here so I'm really hoping they aren't.

    Light Brahmas both hens?

I have 2 light Brahmas that are supposed to be hens. They are about 7-8 weeks. One is much bigger and I'm hoping not a roo. Do they both look like hens?

    Best non-GMO chick feed?

I find mine really like Texas Natural Feeds (it is non soy and non GMO). My layers also seem to lay better on this brand. (I tried switching to a different brand once and I noticed a huge drop in them laying and they didn't seem to care for it as much)

    Not walking!!

That sounds almost identical to how one of my Brahma chicks was a few days ago! I separated her for about 2 days and kept her in a quiet dark place with some water and food. I also gave her some scrambled egg which she ate and seemed to enjoy after a day of being secluded. She eventually started...

    Sick young Brahma

I went off a little while today and when I came home the chick had actually jumped out the box I had her in! I cleaned her off with some warm water and kept her comfortable inside for most of the day. My other Brahma chick seemed to be looking for her so I took her close to the coop. They both...

    Sick young Brahma

She is resting right now and I hate to keep disturbing her. She lays with the hurt leg stretched out beside her. When she tried to stand it just sort of dangles. When she was laying down she even kept pecking at parts of her leg. Should I try to put a splint or give her more time to see if it is...

    Sick young Brahma

Im in New Orleans right outside the city. We don't really have many snakes around here besides a few garter ones. I have seen a lot of rats in our neighbors palm trees at night. I was thinking of a squirrel can get in the coop then a rat probably could too. I just don't know if it would attack a...

    Sick young Brahma

She survived the night and perked up a lot! She is now able to stand for short periods at a time but she doesn't put weight on her foot. She seems much more alert and actually drank a good bit of water. She even got really vocal. (She wasn't making any noises at all before really) She is keeping...
