Yep, all good. Both chooks eating well now and producing nice big eggs. Had a bit of rain last night and Sunday morning, very odd for January down here. How are things on the island?

All good! Enjoying their new pellets and giving an egg most days. Did you manage to sell any of your pullets?

It was ridiculously hot. I got the coop mister started around 8.30am so by the time it was in the mid 40s, the chooks were in the mid 30s - It knocks about 10 degrees off. So they were hot but surviving. I also iced the water supply and put esky blocks in the nest box, which Mary decided to sit on for a few hours. I heard of one backyarder who lost all their chooks, poor little things.

How are your birds doing @Ribh ? All good?

I lost a bird while I was away. She wasn't there when DH went to lock up the coop & she didn't come when He called. We looked & looked for her. I think she hid in a broody trance & it has been super hot here too. She would have dehydrated pretty quickly but I don't think she suffered. I did eventually find her body & buried her. She was just lying quite peacefully. No sign of predation. She was a sweetie
