I'm on Meyers checking it out
The post office guy was staying after hours so I could pick them up and I think he was just sitting at his desk with them from what the pics look like so I bet he peeked in because there was no chirping
      he was pretty sad also
Cackle does have full guarantee of receiving all birds alive
I only ordered 6 speckled Sussex
What kind of birds did you order from Meyers?

I wonder if they got cold. Meyer will ship 15 minimum this time of year. I ordered Olive eggers, ameraucanas, lavender orps, cream legbars and a few others. That's good to know about the postman. I'm always a little worried that everyone doesn't care as much as I would!

Ok thank you I'll check out Meyer
They left yesterday from cackle and got to Missoula today and made darn good timing but post office called and said no reason to pick them up because they all passed away
      I'm really suprised
I hope your order works out better

Wow, that is awful. Did you contact the hatchery? They usually have a live guarantee (Meyers is 48 hrs I think, from the time you receive them). Did you go check it out? I wonder if it's common practice for USPS to open the package. I'm sorry you had such trouble. How many did you order? Poor chicks.

Oh no! What happened? I have not received them, unfortunately. I will give it until tomorrow until I get really worried. USPS tracking isn't all that great either, so that doesn't help. I ordered from Meyer hatchery in Ohio. I have ordered one other time from them, they were pheasants, and didn't have an issue. I hope to have the same luck this time! Normally I buy from Murdock's. I wish I could help more.

My husband and I have a small farm in SW Montana. We have chickens, ducks, geese, goats, barn kitties, pigs and cattle. That's outside. Inside, we have our well loved (slightly over-fed?) three dogs. We obviously don't travel much (read: at all!), so home is filled with fun things to do.
