I believe she is around 25 weeks. She has no laid any eggs yet and neither has the other chicken that I got her with at the same time. I got them as starter pullets around 11 weeks old.
i have been wondering if it could have something to do with her liver. Is there anything I can do to help her?
My chicken has had a normal consistency poop but it’s like a brighter yellow for the past couple weeks. We have not figured out what is wrong with her or how to help her. We talked to a vet tech and she said it was coccidiosis but after treating the flock with Amprolium I have not seen any...
We’ve been giving the chickens Corid for four days now. I still haven’t seen any improvement in her and now I am worried that maybe we misdiagnosed. Her poop is still very yellow and I am not finding the same look on any forums to see what it could possibly be.
She is still eating and drinking like normal and roosting with the flock. Her behavior is still quite normal besides for the times where she can’t keep up with flock and ends up on her own. She just seems to be sleeping more often.
I was able to get in touch with a vet who is familiar with...
update -
So we were able to give her eye medication at night, we applied it every night for a while but it just didn’t seem like it was improving anything. She still stands around with one eye closed and still seems like she’s struggling. She’ll get lost from the flock or left behind and she’ll...
I can do my best but she is VERY skittish and doesn’t usually let me touch her. Tomorrow I will try to see if I can get close enough to further examine the eye.
I have a Dark Cornish around 6 months of age and I noticed yesterday that she was standing around with one eye closed and one open. I wasn’t too sure if I was being paranoid and maybe something was bothering her but I noticed it again today.
Her behavior is still fairly normal, she is wandering...
Update.
She has grown up well. I’ve never seen any health issues or anything. The leg just looks really funky and is some concern to me. I really hope there is nothing wrong with her. It’s just really, really odd to me that she has one leg like this.
Has anyone ever seen this before in a...
That’s what I was considering as well! I kept doubting it because from the pictures I see Orpington’s have two different colors of orange and so she looks a little different. But glad to know others think so as well!
A couple months back I purchased two starter pullets on impulse from a farm online. At the time, I didn’t do much research into the breeds because they were the only pullets the farm had left to sell.
After the purchase I was looking more into the breeds and cannot really find anything on Buff...
Yeah it really is. I’ve been reading up on some chickens who have green legs but it’s just so weird that it’s only one. I’ll keep an eye out on her the next week and make sure it’s nothing.
