    Coconut oil for my hens

    How wonderful! I never thought of feeding it to them but I use it on their feet in the winter time. Definitely will try this!

    all 4 laying hens have dry fowl pox...help!

    My girls are going through this. I put a vitamin supplement in their water and blukote from tractor supply on the lesions. The rest is just waiting game and monitoring. The girls are doing better after just a week. I still eat the eggs as well. Hope this helps :)

    Matted feathers under wing and smelly

    I have 3 hens that are losing feathers under their wings. Is this molt or stress. They have been going thru a bout of dry pox but are on the healing side of it. Please help! Do I need to give them a supplement?

    My RIR has been laying for a few weeks and has had no issues. today she had one shelled egg and two soft ones. Is she ok? Is it her system just a little out of cycle?

    Hi from North Carolina!

    Love this website and I don't know why it took me so long to sign up. We are new to chickens this year. We have 8 hens: 2 RIR and 6 white leghorns. Who knew you could get so attached to them :D
