I have a pullet that looks just like this guy, and one that is bearded as an Americauna should be. Any guesses as to his breed? He's not mean at all, but a bit flighty and timid. Purchased in March from Southern States Farm Co-op.
coffee filters and white vinegar cleans glasses, computer screens, tv screens, camera lenses, etc. for electronics I spritz onto the filter instead of the screen.
Honey and cider vinegar (half and half) cures a sore throat.

My business is appointment-only, so I don't really have hours, but I am closed the entire first week of bow season, first week of rifle season, and the first three days of muzzleloader. And from the second week of rifle season until the end of bowhunting season I try not to work past noon or 1...
I haven't checked lately to see if it's been updated, but used to be the satellite photo of my old house showed no car in the driveway......but the photo was dated on a Sunday, and out of curiosity I put in the address of my church......and there was my car.
DS11 got his first deer yesterday afternoon, on his very first hunt. Now DD13 says she wants to hunt too, lol! DH and I are going to have to take an entire day and butcher.....but that's a good problem to have, because there are seven of us and we do love our venison.
Next week is...
If you don't much care about what your towels look like as to color or pattern, I have had good luck at TJ Maxx finding department-store bath towels at big-box-store prices. Beige, purple and mint green do just as good a job of drying me off as towels that match the bathroom decor, ha ha...

I got a really nice big doe on the second day of rifle season, and the very next afternoon DS15 got his first deer ever. that was an awesome experience.....hubs, son and I were up in our double tree stand on our property, son between our feet on the lower platform...
We have one that I think hatched yesterday, and 5 more due. Chick #1 is not doing very well and may not make it, though. Seems the Cochins that brooded the nest aren't much interested in mothering, so one of our Red Stars is trying to be mommy.
While we're on the subject, would anyone like to take a shot at what the offspring of a RSL roo and white LF Cochin hen would look like? I don't know enough about what characteristics are dominant in chickens to even have the beginnings of an idea.
Good to know.....we have a broody setting a half dozen eggs right now and I had DD mark the ones she is setting with a Sharpie so we will know which ones to collect.
or should I say a pair of broodies! I've had at least two Cochins broody since sometime in April, so last week I succumbed to their poor-me-why-are-you-taking-these-eggs looks and am allowing them to set 6 eggs.
Do I need to have a separate pen for mamas and babies once they hatch? Will the...
ITA about the "By Appointment Only".....I have a tailoring business and only see clients in the town where I used to live on certain days/times. A couple of weeks ago I got a call from a VERY IRATE woman who evidently was standing at the back door of my old house, banging away, utterly convinced...
