    Coop sand

I had to clean out my coop today. Had to. I've had the flu and let it go too long, and it was getting yucky. We went to Lowes to get more sand, and the playground kind is on sale for $2.50 a bag. Thought I'd pass it along! Have a great holiday weekend! Caty

Well, it's official. I'm very bummed, but my buff Polish is a rooster. He's funny- if my husband makes the crowing noise, he answers. They went back and forth for a while before I made him stop- I'm sure the neighborhood doesn't think it's as funny as he does! Does anyone want to adopt him...

It was so nice to match names to faces. Thanks Theresa for hosting- we had a great time! Thanks to Oz for the incubator info- I think I see one of those wine box bators in my future. :-)

Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

Hi. Another admitted lurker here. I wish I could split my time between SoCal and the tropics! :-)

Hi! I am new to keeping chickens. My kids each picked one out at the feed store, and I don't even know what types I have. They're now 7 weeks old, and they love running around the yard, pecking at the lawn. We've had a lot of fun watching them grow, and the silly things that they do. I hope...
