I stenciled a barred rock hen, four little chicks, and a rooster in black on my white coop. I also trimmed the windows in dark green, and have a window box under the window facing the house. The door is red and there is a little porch that will soon have pots of flowers there, too!

I agree, I would put STA-DRI down. It neutralizes the ammonia odor and keeps things dry. It is a mix of DE and clay pellets.

I definitely would paint the inside! Kilz is not scrubbable, and it will eventually peel off. Look in Craig's list for free paint, or post in the wanted section what you want!

Post on Craig's list that you would like old screens from when people redo their windows. You can cut the screen to fit your windows, and staple them around the edges. Good luck!

Turquoise would be pretty on the outside of the coop, with white trim- check Lowes for some OOPS paint, and see if there is something you like better for the inside! I use pale yellow in mine, just because I had some, and it is so nice and sunny.
