I agree, I would put STA-DRI down. It neutralizes the ammonia odor and keeps things dry. It is a mix of DE and clay pellets. Paradise Chickens "Poultry in Motion!"

What time are you expecting them to go in? Mine are about that age, I sit in a chair and talk to them and when it is almost dark they go in themselves. Seems to me 40 minutes after the sun actually goes down- Paradise Chickens "Poultry in Motion!"

OK- you live in New Hampshire, put a request on Craig's list for some old snow skis, attach those to the bottom edges, and then you should be able to pull it pretty easily over grass or snow whenever you want. When I was little my grandma in Kansas had an outhouse on skis, when she needed to...

Turquoise would be pretty on the outside of the coop, with white trim- check Lowes for some OOPS paint, and see if there is something you like better for the inside! I use pale yellow in mine, just because I had some, and it is so nice and sunny. Paradise Chickens "Poultry in Motion!"
