I don't believe there is anything wrong with ordering chickens online. Unless you plan on buying show quality breeding birds, even the. Online may still be okay. I have ordered from Murray McMurray Hatchery for many, many years now and have been pleased with the outcome each and every time...
I don't know if she was calling chicks or not, but I do believe that if you let her go broody she will be perfectly fine because it is a natural instinct. :)
I'm not exactly sure what nutri drench is as I have never used it before. However, I use vitamins that come in powder form that you put into their water. This can be found usually at the local feed store. Hope she gets better :)
:welcome I don't believe there is much else you can do for her. Flukes like that happen, but it sounds like you are treating her very well. Good luck! Maybe someone else will have some good hints. :D
What we use for all of our ramps is just a wood board with small strips of wood going horizontally across like a ladder so the birds do not slip. It is lightweight. I'm not quite sure if I'm picturing your situation right...but there is an idea. :)
I would say that you are okay for the time being. They may or may not be able to get along. I have had both outcomes with my experience. As they get older though they may get more aggressive towards one another... So just keep an eye on them :)
Oh they are adorable!! :D I believe once the have quite a few feathers that they should be able to go without the lamp if it stays warm in their surroundings whether inside or outside. If outside thought make sure to keep an eye on the nighttime temperatures. :)
