Mystery resolved. She laid an egg

Our hen was broody so we put some eggs to hatch. We have three beautiful baby chicks that are 2 weeks old now. Mother hen saw another hen lay an egg today and went up in the nest and saw the egg. I got her out of there, but it's been 6-7 hours now and she still wants to go back there, regardless...

Hi from Seattle. I got two 7 day chicks - Cuckoo Maran and Speckled Sussex, and a 2 day White Leghorn. This site and forum is awesome!
