My belief is that the "feed companies" bottom line is money more than the chickens. The same reason some companies water down their products. Sad, but true.

Well I knew my Americaunas were gonna start laying soon due to the squating and sure enough we got our first greenish egg. I also knew that with a break in the heat there would be some more eggs and yesterday we had 4. I've got 8 girls and I am really looking forward to the bounty they will provide.

So the Choctaw County Fair (SE Oklahoma) is going on this weekend. There's were some great looking chickens there. If my girls make it to next summer I think my wife and I are gonna enter a couple birds and probably some eggs.

No, but it is a metal fabrication shop. A lot of metal dust. I don't want to take a chance with offering crickets that have been roaming around in fine metal particles.

Do chickens eat crickets? Will crickets harm a chicken? The shop I work in have an abundance of crickets and I was thinking of collecting them and offering them the girls as a treat.
