Interesting set up. I’m from Louisiana so we don’t have to worry about freezing. I went with the nipple system and it’s working well for me. I’m very interested to see your completed solution. 😀

Half of the flock are 21 weeks and the other half are 22 weeks old.

For you folks that bought chickens for Easter are you chickens laying? I have 2 of my 3 brown leghorns that have begun to lay! Finally :). We are still waiting on the 7 others to start. The other breeds are Golden Comet, Red Sexlink, Barred Rock, Colombian Rock, Australorp, and Arucana.

I had the same issue. I bought a solar light off of amazon that comes on automatically at sunset. They all march in when the light comes on! So funny to watch.

I went with the Ador1. Installed it this past week. So far so good.

I narrowed down my choice for an Automatic Chicken Door. Ladies First or the Ador1. Any thoughts on these two? Thanks!
