    Need Help ? sour crop

Hi everyone, my little girl who last week got a bath for a super poopy but now maybe seems to have a sour crop. For about three days she hasn't been eating or drinking well (or at all), is anti-social and her tail is down some. Just went to check her again and she was in the nesting box but...

    Pic/ Are you my Mother?

That is sooo cute, my dachshunds were always too curious and wanted to nibble on the chicks UNTIL the chicks started nibbling and pecking back. Now the dogs are scared of them!

The favorite treat for my girls is sprouts (alfalfa, radish, mung bean, lentil) and wheat grass. I grow all these on the kitchen window sill. Very easy!!

    Got sand? You should!

I have read all the posts but still not sure what people think about sand in coops and/or runs for climates where the temps get below zero. I do heat the coop when the temperature gets below 20. I would appreciate some more comments and thoughts about sand and cold climates.

I have read that they shouldn't have any type of beans or potato skins. The other night my girls went crazy over mandarin oranges!

    Chicken Baths??

One of my girls has developed too much poo on her butt feathers. It doesn't seem to be affecting her but can't be good for her either. Can I give her a bath some how? I would like anyone's advice/help with this. Thanks

My first batch of wheat grass is about 1.5 inches tall and I am using paper towels as medium, so far so good. Hope the chickies like it! Awesome setup

Swept the snow from their run, for some reason they act like they will melt if they touch it! They got homemade sprouts as a treat tonight. They just LOVE sprouts. yum yum

Help - Unattended Chicken Coop design and build

Well that sounds like a cool endeavor...BUT my chickens would be sooo sad if they didn't get their treats twice a day, pet, let out in the yard, tucked in at night etc. My family says they are spoiled though, (go figure) Good Luck

    Crumbles or Pellets?

My girls wouldn't have anything to do with the pellets. People at work said "when they get hungry enough, they'll eat them!" I couldn't handle it, they looked at me so pathetically, I gave the crumbles to them Happy again!!!!!
