The other female, we call her Gypsy, went out in the field yesterday and hasn't come back. I'm going to have to hike some 4 ft tall hay fot hide and seek so i can put a 4x6 around her. She's not safe out there.

My hens have had better luck with duck eggs than they have their own. Good Luck!

My toulouse hatched out 3 of her 5 eggs yesterday, other 2 were rotten. This morning she had them out grazing. My 2 males are super protective. Haven't left the babies side since they started hatching. Trying to attach a pic of the flock but it isn't working.

I've got Toulouse sitting on a mix African and Toulouse eggs. She's been sitting tight now for over a week. Due the week of Memorial day. From a trio of four year old that have successfully hatched the last two years. I can't wait to see how many I get!

Usually when I move my broodies it takes them 24-48 hrs to sit again. I just wait that long to put the real eggs under.

If it was some kind of spray I would say that your incubation rates would have been low as well. I wouldn't think it would affect the ducks ability to brood. You say this has been happening with two of yours as well, are the others still having hatches? If so maybe I just got unlucky and two...
