    On closer inspection I think the quail that I see here in Oman are actualy common quail - Coturnix coturnix apparently these are very difficult to rear as they are 'flighty'and unlike most game birds migratory. There is a paper on them here. http://digital.csic.es/bitstream/10261/61261/1/82.pdf
