Three days is the maximum for chicks to be shipped. They should be fine. For the first three days they can be sustained with their yolk sac alone. As soon as you get them they will need food and water immediately. I live in the northeast and mine are also taking 3 days this year.

How about using something else. I was thinking maybe the small chunky bark pieces some people use as mulch or in their decorative flower beds. They are heavy and won't blow away as easily. They will be more expensive in the long run but you won't have to replace it as much either. Only thing is...
