Da Chicken Bus
Back in the early spring my dog and I found and old school bus out in my friend's woods. I got it for free and had it towed to my place where I sized it up for a serious re-fit to be used as a coop. Below are some pics and short description of the process of turning a short bus...
I have numerous dogs and never lost a single bird to them. My wife and I are dog trainers. My neighbors mutt however wiped out about 10 chickens and 12 guineas in a matter of days. I warned them to keep him home and had the animal control cop here one day showing him the trail of guinea feathers...
OK. I love the U-Haul truck idea! But has anyone thought of a school bus? Here's my attempt at using a derelict old short bus as a sorta 'Coup De Bus'.

I sure hope so. He's such a beautiful roo I'd like to get some chicks out of him. He actually comes right up to you and I pick him up. He squawks a bit, but is in no hurry to get down. Maybe he's a bit spoiled and that has something to do with it?

Duuuh!!! ACV=Apple...

Thanks again!
OK group. What are you guys using to keep algae down in your watering systems. I want to go to a nipple system, but if they get the green crud like my ground waterers do I'm not going to bother. I live in N. Virginia whereit's hot and humid, which results in astronomical algae growth. I wash...
A month ago I picked up a Salmon Faverolles rooster to add to the flock. He's about 5-6 months old now and quite the handsome dude. The problem is that he's not breeding effectively with the hens. He makes a halfhearted gesture to mount them then runs away. He's still kinda young. He's generally...
I'm very sorry for your loss. I too have coyotes in my area here in Northern Va. My answer to the problem was to buy a coyote live trap at my local Tractor Supply store. I have trapped and dispatched 5 so far, as well as a few foxes. I seldom see them around anymore. My biggest problem now is...
