I am looking for a young non aggressive rooster in the New Albany, IN area. About a month and a half ago, my husband and I found a rooster in a park near our house. We rehomed it because we thought it was upsetting our neighbor’s Autistic Granddaughter because she has never liked animals or...
I have 9 ducks that are about 2-2.5 months old. I got them from Tractor Supply, but the employees there didn’t know what breed they are. If someone could tell me, that would be great!!
The run is about 5x10. There’s a toy in there and I give them veggies to peck at when I’m home. I do need to get them more things to entertain themselves. I will get them more entertainment and see if that works.
I don’t have roosters anymore. I had to get rid of them due to aggressive behavior. I’m not sure which one is the bully. 2 of them are a few weeks older than the other 9, but they’re all the same size now.
Good evening BYC family!
I have 11 Rhode Island Red hens. They are all about 8-9 months old. I noticed one of them has a bald spot, so I picked her up and saw an area where there was bleeding at one point. Should I isolate her, or do you all think she’s fine to stay with the flock? She made an...
Hey all,
I have a 3 ( almost 4) month old RIR rooster that I need to re home. He attacked my hens when I tried to integrate them in the coop. He is free to a good home. The picture is a few weeks old. His comb and wattles are much bigger now and he is starting to get the green feathers on his...
Unfortunately after trying to integrate my hens with both of my roosters, one of the roosters started attacking the hens. I’m going to have to re home him. I know this is short notice, but my boyfriend is only going to give it until noon tomorrow and then he will cull the rooster. If anyone can...
I will be working a 72 hour shift this week. I have two 3 month old Roos in the coop, two 3 month old hens in one brooder (they’ll be going in the coop soon), and 9 one and a half month old hens in another brooder. How much food and water should I leave for them?
I’m hoping at least one of these is a hen. I already have 2 Roos who I absolutely adore (even though my fiancé told me not to get attached to them). My second two chicks are about 4-6 weeks old. One of them is slightly aggressive, but I’m working with him/her with being handled. Could you all...
I’m having trouble trying to figure out if my 6 week old chicks are hens, roosters, or one of each. I’m new to raising chickens, so any help with determining sex would be greatly appreciated!! I can post more pictures if needed.
